It just dawned on me what I was witnessing when I “first started blogging”:http://www.sensoryoutput.com/archives/2004/06/26/new-comment-after-post/ with “WordPress”:http://www.wordpress.org: “PingBacks”:http://www.hixie.ch/specs/pingback/pingback and “TrackBacks”:http://www.movabletype.org/trackback/beginners/. For some reason, WordPress groups these together, placing them all in the comments section. That is why after some of my posts I found new comments on older entries—I was linking to them in the new posts. I was sending PingBacks to my old stories. Heh.
I found a WordPress plugin to separate comments from these, so confusion should soon give way to tranquility in the land of sensory output.
